Saving money, time, and stress with standards-based workflows

This talk will review the state of batch analysis workflow technologies in 2019 and how various approaches contribute to fulfilling the FAIR data principles.

It will also review recent findings showing how standards-based structured computing allows for cost savings and computation time while keeping the workflows themselves free of site specific detail.

Finally, this talk will present an actionable vision for how the astronomy community can combine and extend these approaches across the many infrastructures in operation and in development today and beyond.
