VOEvent processing pipelines for SVOM Chinese Science Ground Segment

Space-based multi-band astronomical Variable Object Monitor (SVOM) is a collaborative project between China and France dedicated to the detection, localization and study Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) and other high-energy transient phenomena. SVOM is expected to be launched in 2021, with a life of 3-5 years.

We designed a dedicated VOEvent network for SVOM Chinese Ground Segment based on both VTP and XMPP protocols. We build a VTP server node to easily subscribe to global VOEvent nodes like GCN and 4pisky. Within SVOM network, we use a XMPP network to forward human readable messages to various cross-platform clients in realtime, which enables scientists and burst advocates (BAs) to understand the transient events in a good manner and decide what to do next if necessary. We utilize Docker platform to do fast deployment and integration this VOEvent processing system with our SVOM BA platform.

In the poster, we introduce the design framework, processing pipelines of this VOEvent network, as well as some tests involving Chinese Science Center and ground follow-up telescopes. (This work is supported by the Youth Science Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation of China, 11603049.)
