Building interfaces for physics and astronomy research infrastructures

The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will rely on local communities to facilitate the processing of the data coming from the telescope. The European region has the ambition to become a virtual node (the European SKA Regional Centre) in this system, and ASTRON is taking a leading role in this. To facilitate the data processing by the large community of astronomers, we will need to have a Science Analysis Platform (SAP) which offers easy access to complex high-performance and high-throughput compute platforms, as well as interactive data processing.
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a European federation of research data infrastructures so that they form a set of technologies that can be used to support scientific data processing by all scientific domains.
The aims of the ESCAPE project is to leverage the EOSC technologies to make data from the European Research Infrastructures accessible to scientists from all over the continent. In this presentation, we will give an overview of which services will be provided by the platform and how it is addressing the issues of data querying and access, and supporting the data processing by the users.
