(P1.4) Computational aspects of Space-VLBI missions (“Radioastron” and “Millimetron”)Organization of the space-ground VLBI missions is a challenging task and requires a complex approach. The experience of “Radioastron” space-ground VLBI mission showed the major directions of such approach. One of these directions is the computational issues related to the space-ground VLBI data processing, as well as . the orbit uncertainly, that is connected with the data analysis. Besides that, another crucial point is the time synchronization, that can be done either with an onboard H-maser or using so-called closed loop mode. The methods of data processing using these different modes are discussed.
Following the “Radioastron” mission, the “Millimetron” project will be a next-generation millimeter space-ground interferometer capable of observing with angular resolution up to 3*10^-8 as. Here, the main limitations of space-ground VLBI in the millimeter wavelengths are considered together with the possibilities of simultaneous observations at several frequencies and application of phase transferring method to remove the effects of atmospheric fluctuations.
One of the important points of the modern high resolution VLBI is the interstellar scattering, especially concerning the imaging of the super massive black holes in center of the galaxies. The possibilities of the compensation of this effect, as well as the dynamic imaging techniques stand together in the list of the problems of modern VLBI. These methods of compensation and imaging has been implemented in the Astro Space Locator software, which was developed as the of data processing and analysis tools for ground VLBI and “Radioastron”/“Millimetron” missions.
